For the first time in history, Ukraine has won a medal in the World Cup luge relay event.

The Ukrainian national luge team has won bronze medals in the mixed relay at the World Cup.

The team consisted of: singles competitors Yulianna Tunitska and Andrii Mandziia, doubles team Ihor Hoi with Nazarii Kachmar, and Olena Stetskiiv with Oleksandra Mokh.

The Ukrainian team finished nearly 4 seconds behind Germany but still managed to secure third place.

This is the first time in history that Ukraine has earned a medal at this level in a relay event.

All previous eight medals at the World Cup stages in luge were won by Nataliia Yakushenko, who last claimed silver in 2008.

In the previous stage, Ukraine finished in sixth place in the relay, but the current result has allowed them to take third place in the overall standings for this season.
