By February 4, 2025, men aged 18 to 60 who have been classified as "limited fit" are required to undergo a repeated military-medical commission.
This is stated in the Ministry of Defense Order No. 402, which regulates the operations of the Military Medical Commission (VLC).
This document came into effect simultaneously with the law passed on March 21 titled "On Amendments to Certain Laws of Ukraine Regarding the Provision of Social Protection Rights for Military Personnel and Police Officers," which was signed by the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, on April 2.
The main innovation of the document is that individual fitness assessments have been almost entirely abolished (with four exceptions), where the VLC could choose between the terms "unfit" and "limited fit" (as well as "limited fit" or "fit").
Restrictions are also established concerning the peculiarities of service based on health status.
