Foreigners participating in pro-Western protests have begun to be deported from Georgia.

According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, in November-December 2024, 91 foreigners were ordered to leave the country. Among them, over a quarter are participants in protests advocating for Georgia's Euro-integration.
“Among the individuals for whom the Migration Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated expulsion procedures, there are foreign citizens who participated in the protests held in Tbilisi in November-December, and who were subjected to various administrative penalties by the court, totaling 25 individuals,” the statement said.
Of these 25 individuals, 10 foreigners have already left Georgia. The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia does not specify the citizenship of these individuals.
According to estimates from NGOs and media, over 20 foreigners were among the 450 detained during the protests, most of whom are Russians.
Recall that in October 2024, parliamentary elections took place in Georgia. According to the Central Election Commission of Georgia, the pro-Russian party “Georgian Dream,” which has been in power for over 10 years, won the elections. The opposition has refused to recognize the election results.
