Three years after the land market opened, Ukrainians sold 3.4% of plots, with half of those sales occurring in 2024.

The most expensive land in Ivano-Frankivsk region averages nearly 90,000 UAH per hectare, while the cheapest land can be found in Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions, priced at approximately 34,000 UAH per hectare.

Three years after the lifting of the moratorium on the alienation of agricultural land, Ukrainians sold 604,000 hectares – accounting for 3.4% of the total number of such plots.

This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval.

At the same time, in 2024, more land was sold than in the previous 2.5 years – 106,669 plots with a total area of 320,660 hectares. The average price per hectare was 46,678 UAH – $1,163.

After the land market opened in July 2021, legal entities purchased 25,157 plots – 78,307 hectares. The average price per hectare was 62,656 UAH ($1,561). Individuals bought 81,512 plots – 242,353 hectares. The average price per hectare was 41,510 UAH ($1,034).

The most land was sold last year in Poltava region – 45,622 hectares, Odesa region – 33,024 hectares, and Dnipropetrovsk region – 30,623 hectares. The smallest areas were sold in Volyn – 818 hectares, Rivne – 909 hectares, and Ivano-Frankivsk region – 1,094 hectares.

The most expensive land is in Ivano-Frankivsk, averaging 89,744 UAH per hectare, followed by Lviv region – 71,390 UAH and Poltava region – 66,232 UAH. The lowest average price is in Zaporizhia – 33,981 UAH per hectare, Mykolaiv region – 34,033 UAH, and Sumy region – 34,936 UAH.

Background. Earlier, Mind reported that in October 2024, the first land auction took place – the State Property Fund leased 115 hectares in Vinnytsia region for 3 million UAH.
