Zelensky endorsed lowering oil prices, stating, "Putin won't have enough money for war."

The President emphasized that Trump's proposal to increase oil production will strengthen the United States and weaken Russia.
Зеленский поддержал снижение цен на нефть: «У Путина не будет столько денег на войну».

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed support for Donald Trump's idea to increase oil production in the U.S. and supply the global market with American oil and gas.

This would not only strengthen the U.S. economy but also deprive Putin of revenue from energy resources—thus limiting his ability to finance the war against Ukraine.

Zelensky made this statement during an interview with American podcaster Lex Friedman, published on the President's Office YouTube channel.

“American oil, American gas? Sure. Why not? It will be cheaper for the world. It will mean revenue for the United States. And I think he will be pleased. Both President Trump and your people will be happy. The decision is yours. I’m just sharing an opinion. Yes, and cheap oil. Putin won’t have as much money for the war,” Zelensky said.

Background. During the interview, Zelensky criticized the Biden administration's reluctance to impose sanctions on Russia before the invasion, stating: “Well, that’s bullshit, excuse me.” According to him, before the Russian attack, he had asked the U.S. for two things—arms and the implementation of sanctions to prevent the war.
