Zelensky confirmed that the Ukrainian Armed Forces have captured several North Korean soldiers.

North Korean troops fighting alongside Russia in the war against Ukraine are suffering casualties.

This was reported by Volodymyr Zelensky during his evening video address.

“We see that the Russian military and North Korean overseers are not at all concerned about the survival of these Koreans. Everything is arranged in such a way that it is impossible for us to capture the Koreans: they are being eliminated by their own, there are such facts,” the president explained. The Russians send them into assaults with minimal protection.

Zelensky confirmed the information that Ukrainian forces captured several soldiers from North Korea. They had severe injuries, and attempts to resuscitate the captives were unsuccessful.

“The Korean people should not lose their individuals in battles in Europe. This can be influenced, among others, by Korea's neighbors, particularly China. If China is sincere in its statements that the war should not expand, appropriate pressure on Pyongyang is needed,” the president noted.

According to South Korean intelligence, the Armed Forces of Ukraine captured a North Korean soldier on December 26. Due to a deterioration in his condition, he later died. “Militarnyi” reported that the soldier was captured in the Kursk region. There were no other confirmations of this information.
