Israel will not transfer Russian weapons seized by the IDF in Lebanon to Ukraine.

According to the ambassador, this was merely a private legislative initiative that did not advance in parliament.
Израиль не передаст Украине российское оружие, захваченное ЦАХАЛом в Ливане.

The Israeli Ambassador to Ukraine, Michael Brodsky, denied any intention to transfer Russian weapons seized in Lebanon to Ukraine, as reported by “Radio Liberty.”

Last week, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Israel, Yevhen Korniychuk, met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Israel, Sharren Haskel, and expressed gratitude for such an initiative.

“I might disappoint you a bit, but this is not an initiative from Israel. There was likely some miscommunication. Someone probably misunderstood something. Sharren Haskel, when she was still a member of parliament and not the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, proposed a private legislative initiative for Israel to transfer Russian-made seized weapons to Ukraine. This initiative did not advance in the Knesset,” said Brodsky.

According to him, since then, she has become the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and can no longer propose private legislative initiatives as a government member.

“The matter of weapon transfers is entirely under the jurisdiction of the army and the Ministry of Defense. The Israeli Ministry of Defense has made no such decision,” he added.

Background. Recall that an analyst from the Atlantic Council criticized the West for its failed arms limitation policy towards Ukraine. The “appeasement” policy from Western countries is merely a signal for adversaries to advance further.
