As of Saturday evening, Israel has not received the list of names of the first three hostages who are to be released on Sunday. In this regard, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that without this list, the ceasefire agreement will not be valid.
According to reports from The Times of Israel
In his first public comments regarding the agreement, made in a 10-minute video released on Saturday evening, Netanyahu referred to the initial phase of the hostage release agreement as a "temporary ceasefire" and emphasized that both U.S. President Joe Biden and President-elect Donald Trump highlighted that Israel could resume military operations in Gaza if subsequent phases of the agreement are not implemented.
However, on Saturday evening, the Prime Minister's office announced that Israel still had not received the list of names, which constitutes a breach of the agreement's terms.
In a statement from the Israeli Prime Minister's office, it was noted: "We will not move forward until we receive the list of hostages to be released, as agreed. Israel will not tolerate violations of the agreement. The entire responsibility lies with Hamas."
The agreement, which was signed in Doha on Friday morning and ratified by Israel early Saturday, stipulates that Hamas is obligated to provide the names of the hostages at least 24 hours before their release.
In his video address, Netanyahu stated that Israel will not rest until "all its military objectives are achieved," which includes the return of all hostages held in Gaza.
He added that the U.S. promised Israel the necessary weaponry to resume military action if needed and stated that Israel would do so "in new ways and with very great force."
