Scholz arrived in Kyiv and pledged new assistance for Ukraine.

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has arrived in Kyiv on an unannounced visit. He traveled by train from "Ukrzaliznytsia." This marks his first visit to the Ukrainian capital in two years.

It is reported that during his visit to Kyiv, Scholz will announce a new military aid package for Ukraine amounting to 650 million euros.

"For over 1000 days, Ukraine has been heroically defending itself against the relentless Russian aggressive war," Scholz stated upon arriving at the Kyiv train station, where he was greeted by a Ukrainian delegation.

According to him, Germany "will remain Ukraine's strongest supporter in Europe," and the chancellor expressed hope for swift arms deliveries, as reported by Spiegel.

"During my meeting with President Zelensky, I intend to announce further arms supplies worth 650 million euros, which are to be delivered by the end of December. We say what we will do. And we do what we say," the chancellor remarked.

Meanwhile, social media users are actively discussing what the chancellor might have brought with him in a silver suitcase.

In particular, there are speculations that it could contain very small Taurus missiles, which, due to their small size, would not lead to escalation. Alternatively, the suitcase might hold enriched uranium that partners have provided to Ukraine for the production of nuclear weapons.

Background. It is worth noting that the German chancellor has been actively opposing the provision of long-range Taurus missiles to Ukraine, despite calls from his political opponents – opposition leader Friedrich Merz and Minister of Economy Robert Habeck.

Recently, Scholz criticized Friedrich Merz for suggesting that Berlin issue an ultimatum to the "nuclear state" of Russia regarding possible supplies of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine.
