Black bread is on the list of undesirable foods
Feeding wild birds during the winter months is a kind and beneficial act; however, human food can pose dangers to them.
Experts from the capital's State Service of Food Safety and Consumer Protection published a list of products that are better not to scatter in bird feeders.
It is advisable not to feed birds:

- salty, sour, spicy, or hot food;
- fried foods;
- citrus fruits and bananas;
- millet (dehulled proso).
Instead, you can feed the birds:
- sunflower, watermelon, or pumpkin seeds;

- dried rowan and hawthorn;
- lard, beef (pieces of lard can be hung on ropes from tree branches or shrubs);
- maple and ash seeds;
- pine cones, acorns, nuts;
- unsalted butter;
- hard-boiled grated eggs;
- cottage cheese;
- apples, cut into pieces.
