Kharkiv patrol officers recorded an attempt to bribe employees while performing their official duties.

This was reported by the press service of the Patrol Police of the Kharkiv region, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the patrol officers, on Saturday, around 11 PM, on Vrubelya Street, law enforcement stopped a Volkswagen vehicle for a traffic violation. During the interaction, the inspectors detected signs of alcohol intoxication in the driver.

The driver underwent a sobriety test using a Dräger device, which showed a result of 1.67 ppm, exceeding the permissible limit by more than 8 times.

The inspectors also established that the driver was deprived of the right to operate such a vehicle.

The police informed the offender that appropriate administrative materials would be drawn up against him. Following this, the man offered the inspectors an unlawful benefit of 100 US dollars to avoid responsibility.

The man did not respond to repeated warnings about criminal liability for offering an unlawful benefit.

To document the events, the police called an investigative operational group to the scene.

The patrol officers removed the driver from operating the vehicle and compiled administrative protocols against him under part 3 of article 130 (Driving a vehicle while intoxicated repeatedly within a year), part 5 of article 126 (Driving a vehicle by a person without the right to drive), and an administrative ruling under part 1 of article 121 (Driving a vehicle with malfunctioning external light devices) of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses.
