Investigators have reported suspicions against a resident of the Chuhuiv district who stole from a coworker.
This was communicated by the communications department of the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kharkiv region, as reported by "Dumka".
According to the police, at the end of December, a resident of the village of Kochetok reported a theft to the police, stating that an unknown individual had stolen his bag containing money and documents.
Law enforcement officials determined that the victim's 59-year-old coworker was tempted by the victim's belongings. Evidence was seized from the perpetrator.
He managed to spend the money for his own needs. The perpetrator burned the victim's passport, driver's license, and other documents to cover up the crime.
On January 28, police investigators informed the suspect of the charges under Part 4 of Article 185 (theft) and Part 3 of Article 357 (embezzlement of an official document) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. The penalty for these offenses may include imprisonment for up to 8 years.
