A monument to the renowned Ukrainian artist of Polish descent, Henryk Siemiradzki, has been unveiled in Kharkiv.
This was reported by the Kharkiv City Council, as conveyed by "Dumka".

According to the city council, the monument was inaugurated to mark the 220th anniversary of V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University. Siemiradzki worked in the genre of academic art. He was born in Ukraine and received his education at the university, graduating from the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. His canvases now adorn art galleries in Ukraine, Poland, and other European countries.

"We are unveiling monuments, creating new squares and parks, and installing memorial plaques to commemorate outstanding individuals and events that have played a significant role in the development of our city. Even now, during wartime, exhibitions and various artistic events are being held thanks to Kharkiv artists. This demonstrates the strength of our people's spirit and the resilience of Kharkiv," noted the mayor.

We remind you that it was previously reported that there are plans to open a commemorative sign for the remarkable artist Siemiradzki in Kharkiv. It was noted that the memorial will be located at the entrance to the Kharkiv gallery.
