The driver of the Lexus, who crashed into a truck resulting in the death of Kharkiv resident Anna Zhuk and injuries to three others, has been placed in pre-trial detention.
This information was shared by Poltava police representative Yuri Sulaev, as reported by "Suspilne.Poltava", as conveyed by "Dumka".
According to the prosecutor's office, the man behind the wheel of the Lexus was ordered by the court to be held in custody on January 28.
He received a 60-day pre-trial detention without the possibility of posting bail.
Recall that 39-year-old Anna Zhuk died on January 24 around 8:40 AM at the 209th kilometer of the Kyiv-Kharkiv-Dovzhansky highway near the village of Zasulye in the Lubny community. She was on her way to her influencer daughter's birthday celebration.
According to the police, the Lexus, driven by a 24-year-old man, collided with a Renault Premium truck parked off the roadway.
Zhuk died at the scene. Her son and husband sustained injuries and were hospitalized.
Anna Zhuk was the mother of three children and actively supported the Armed Forces of Ukraine. In 2024, the Chief Commander of the Armed Forces, Alexander Syrsky, recognized the blogger.
On January 26, a farewell ceremony for the blogger Anna Zhuk took place in Kharkiv.
